Pune: 30-year-old woman arrested for assault


PUNE: Pimpri police arrested a 30-year-old woman, , for assaulting a 25-year-old woman following some disputes between them.

The injured woman, a resident of Nehrunagar, has lodged a complaint with the police saying that she and the suspected woman (names have been withheld by TOI) were in love for over a year now.

Police said that both the women work as house maidservants in Pimpri areas. Both were staying together as live-in partners. They do not have relatives based in Pune or Pimpri Chinchwad, police added.

A few months ago, the victim borrowed the small amount of money from the suspect. Despite requests by the suspect, the victim failed to return the money. About three months ago, they had the first fight and the suspect was annoyed with the victim.

A couple of days ago, the two again picked up arguments. At first, both the women hurled abuses at each other. In a fit of rage, the suspect picked up an axe and assaulted the other woman on the head and back.

Police have registered a case under the section 307 (attempt to murder) of against the suspect.
