VADODARA :Three persons were arrested on Tuesday by special operations group of Vadodara rural for allegedly robbing a collection officer of L&T Microfinance of Rs 1.4 lakh cash and two mobile phones near Dabhoi on September 8.
The arrests of the accused Hitesh alias Hito Patanwadiya, Umesh alias Jigo Patel and Ramu Vasava revealed that the complainant Dharmesh Vankar was also involved in the alleged .
On Tuesday the police had received information that the three accused are in Kundhela village of Dabhoi taluka. On the basis of the tip-off, cops nabbed them with a car. Later, the robbed money and mobile phones were also recovered from the accused. During interrogation, the trio revealed involvement of Vankar as well. Police said that the three accused and Vankar are good friends and they had planned the robbery since Patanwadiya had to clear a debt.
Cops said that they had planned the robbery in a filmy style so that the passer by or any eye-witness would not suspect that it is orchestrated. “As per their plan, the accused got out of the car and even thrashed the complainant before fleeing away with robbed money and mobile phones,” a police official said. Cops said that Vankar too will be nabbed soon.
On September 8, when Vankar was returning to his office in Dabhoi after collecting money from borrowers, he was intercepted and robbed by his friends on the Karali-Dabhoi Road.
